Hear Talk Featuring Sue Zizza

Today, audio fiction blares out of millions of ear buds across the US and around the world, but that wasn’t at all the case when Sue Zizza (here) got involved with the art back in college. Sue will drop by Hear Talk, National Audio Theatre Festivals’ live streaming series, to discuss her journey as a producer, director, and sound designer, as well as her years as the driving force behind the HEAR Now Audio Fiction and Arts Festival.
Since beginning SueMedia Productions in the mid-’90s, Zizza has won Audie, Wilbur, Earphone, Gracie, and Gabriel awards, among others, for works including “The Witches of Lublin,” “William’s Leap For Freedom,” and “Where’s My Fortune Cookie.” Her most recent releases include the public radio program “Debs in Canton,” and directing Brian Muraresku’s “The Immortality Key,” which debuted at #2 on Audible.
Sue created the ‘illuminated style’ of audiobooks for her production of “Swordspoint,” – the novel was just named by Time Magazine as one of The 100 Best Fantasy Books of All Time. Zizza’s production won an Audie Award and an Earphones Award, and is featured as part of Neil Gaiman Presents at Audible.com. She imparts her experience to students teaching recording and sound design at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Hear Talk host Lia Hagen will explore Zizza’s creative vision with her in a 90-minute, free, Zoom-based event that will include your questions. Register today!
