History
Established in 1973, the Arts Council is the official arts agency for the City-Parish of East Baton Rouge. We serve as a hub for information and resources for arts organizations and residents across the state of Louisiana.
The Arts Council provides professional development for creative professionals & educators, performances series, in-school artist residencies, and re-granting of private, municipal, & state funds for artists & arts organizations.
Our organization impacts more than 200,000 people annually through free public art events & series, including the Ebb & Flow festival and Sunday in the Park. These events spur economic activity in the regions they serve through cultural tourism and dollars spent on local businesses.
Through performing arts, education, community engagement programming, and administrative positions, Arts Council employs or contracts with more than 250 artists each year from the state of Louisiana.
