To succeed in playing characters in every type of voice over, you can’t just zip into a character on the spot, willy-nilly. It’ll sound non-specific and incomplete. You need to have your own repertoire of original characters that you’ve already fully developed and ready to go into in an instant.
Voicing characters in recent years has shifted to a more realistic mode as opposed to zany, over-the-top creations, so you need to examine the various sides of your own personality to create original, realistic characters.
This webinar will teach you how to create and sustain original characters by using your own personality traits & morphing them into characters. As with all voice acting, you’ll utilize your body, gestures, face, and utterances, while also developing a “signature” for every character you create. This will build up the repertoire you need to work in this exciting, creative, and competitive area of voice acting. And it’s SO FUN!
To prepare for this webinar, there is a prep-work assignment, “Aspects of Yourself”, where you’ll explore the many sides of your personality by writing 3- line scripts for each. You will also receive several scripts to look over. Then on the night of the webinar, volunteers will step up to the mic and utilize their homework to perform these scripts.
