Improv for the Solo Performer w/Kliff VandenHeuvel

On-camera and VO actor, Kiff VandenHeuvel, a Second City alumni, will lead this dynamic 3-week class with a specific focus on the necessity of home recording for voiceover auditions/jobs; self-direction; on camera self-recorded auditions; and applying the techniques/exercises of improvisation in a solo performer environment without being told to do so by a booth or casting director.

Topics covered:

– Applying improv techniques to self-direction for all kinds of copy

– Creating environments and characters quickly

– Learning personal improv exercises and self-application

– How to create and maintain a daily practice

– Building confidence to shorten your edit time

– The gift and power of your own imagination

– Finding your own voice to self-coach

– Learning relaxation and confidence-building techniques

– Extinguishing negative self-talk

Also HIGHLY recommended but not a requirement is to purchase a copy of Viola Spolin’s book, “Theatre Games for The Lone Actor”
