In this online workshop we’ll walk through all the basics of recording at home including acoustic treatment, microphone choice, remote recording apps like Source Connect, and a simple workflow for delivering a voice over audition in Audacity. We’ll cover tips to address common issues that arise like mouth noise, a noisy room and unwanted breaths. We’ll also discuss recording basics like microphone placement and proper recording levels.
About Your Instructor:
Mike DeLay is the Owner/ Audio Engineer/ Demo Producer at Real Voice L.A. He studied audio engineering at Musicians Institute here in Los Angeles and is an Avid Pro Tools HD Certified Operator. Mike has worked as a free lance audio engineer, mix engineer, music editor and composer. Just before launching RVLA he worked with Silverlake Sounds handling music editing for 20 TV shows and has custom composed or had music placed in shows on NBC, ABC, Freeform, VH1, MTV, Discovery Channel, Bravo!, NatGeo, The Style Network, and Showtime.
