Play Hard! Deepening Your Commitment to Story and Character in Audiobook Narration with Shannon Parks (Webinar)

ONLY $99 for TWO SESSIONS!
Tuesday, May 12 and
Wednesday, May 13, 2020
5pm pacific/8pm eastern
Shannon Parks (aka Marguerite Gavin) has been a professional audiobook narrator for over twenty years with over 500 titles, numerous Audie nominations and Earphones awards, and a devoted fan following. Audiofile magazine describes her as having the “coveted ability to disappear as the narrator, letting the story take the limelight it deserves.” Her narration spans nearly every genre from mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, romance, and children’s fiction, to a huge variety of non-fiction work. Drawing not only from her decades of experience as a narrator, but also as a director, actress, and acting teacher in theater, Shannon’s work as an audiobook coach focuses on the art of acting in narration, for which she has been described as having “a magic ear, and an ear for magic.”
ALL who register–even if you can’t attend live–will receive the links to both webinar session videos within a week after the live event.
You MUST register by 1 hour before the webinar to ensure you can attend live.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
You will explore ideas and techniques for greater connection, commitment, and risk taking in acting the audiobook.
First you will learn to tackle what may be our greatest challenges these days: how to take care of ourselves in body, mind, and spirit so that we can be most available to our craft.
You will refine your skills in preparation (deep diving for character, tone, and creating dramatic tension); acting on impulse and the improvisatory nature of narration and self-direction; and deepening your commitment to your choices, taking risks, and approaching the work with a sense of play.
Narrators will have the opportunity to work on individual challenges, ask questions, and to read and get feedback. This webinar is designed for narrators of every experience level.
Come and play!!!

What people are saying about Julie…
I love the way you do your voiceover and I always have. More people should use you as a model–especially women… and I congratulate you, you have a wonderful career.
                   Dick Orkin, VO Legend
I learned more in ONE SESSION with Julie than in TEN with my other coach!
Don White, VO Talent
After coaching with Julie, I’ve won 30 jobs in my first year. I had no professional background in radio or acting. I know that her coaching has helped improve my skills immensely. I’m so thankful for the wonderful start she’s given me into getting paid to do something I absolutely adore! jennifermaryvo.com

Julie is my first and ONLY recommendation whenever a voiceover student tells me they want to learn long-form anything. Audio books, medical narration, e-learning – she is the top coach in these areas hands-down. She’s also a generous spirit, a smart business woman and a wonderful person. Grace, humility, beauty, that’s Julie. –
                          Gabby Nistico,
voiceover actress, coach and author
I have put to use what she’s taught me (and have really noticed a difference in my narration work because of her!) I have been getting tons more work, and it’s work I love, in the eLearning space.
                   Jill Goldman, VO Talent
Thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Your session on eLearning and narration has manifested itself into my career in a big way! It makes up at least 75% of my VO income and I feel like I was born to do it.
