Join professional puppeteer and actress, Libby Letlow for a jam packed 2 hour puppetry intensive. Together we will explore the proper way to hold a puppet -L pose vs Z pose, warm-ups for stamina and wrist strength and how to TRULY bring a puppet to life using breathwork.
Come prepared with your own puppet, store bought or handmade (Libby will teach you how!) in order to engage in group exercises designed to improve eye focus and mouth movements creating a lifelike performance.
Most importantly this class will dive into creating your puppet’s character and exhibiting that through voice and mannerisms, perfect for puppeteers, voice actors, and actors! Come prepared with a song, because we will learn to have our puppets lipsync and dance along to the music. So much fun!
Students will need:
A puppet with an articulated mouth OR:
- a length of elastic
- two ping pong balls
- velcro dots or black sharpie
- hot glue (these are all for those that are feeling crafty)
- It will also help to have a tripod for their phone or a counter to put their laptop/computer on so they can stand and stretch and have space to move.
