VO Weekly Workout with Scott Parkin

Scott Parkin is a master of “The conversational, real read & improvisation for VO”. Scott has been improvising in VO, on TV & Film and on stage for 30 years. He’s performed voiceover in over 2,000 radio & TV commercials and appeared on camera in 100’s and 100’s of TV commercials , multiple TV shows and some films. He’s also written ad copy for multiple large agencies for years and written for Network Television shows.

Scotts teaching style is a fast paced & entertaining program designed to demystify improvisation and sharpen skills you already have and learn new skills that will help you compete for more work. Scott has been a working Voice Over Actor for over 30 years, during that time he’s learned many ways to approach the conversational read and improvisation for Voice Over. Scott’s favorite part of teaching is watching people risk & succeed at things they’ve never really tried before and take those victories into the market place.

As a coach Scott has taught 100’s of veteran and new VO talent all over the US and the world including London & Spain with upcoming trips abroad on the books. Scott is a born teacher and loves the thrill of watching new students. Scott is one of a few “Working coaches “ he currently can be seen in national commercials for Tide & the USPS. He’s also the voice of California Walnuts and has national spots running for AT&T & Toyota. Because Scott auditions multiple times every week and is also a freelance copywriter he is able to spot trends before they emerge and teach to where the business is heading as opposed to where it was. Scott is as at home teaching improv as he is teaching acting because he believes it takes both skill sets to compete for work in VoiceOver.
