At the completion of this course, students will

Recognize the practical elements that contribute to effective animation writing

Have written an 11- or 22-minute animated television script, OR short stand-alone film script

Learn how to take your idea to script!

Develop skills in how to write openings, pitches, starter documents and treatments

Get inside knowledge of studio animation “rules”

Learn how to develop fully fleshed out characters that take the audience on a journey that they can’t wait to see!

Develop subplots, supporting characters, and full story arcs

Learn how to break down the act structure, and how to transition from scene to scene

Work with Billy in clarifying the beats, tone, and core audience of your film

Give live virtual presentations throughout the 6 weeks to your class, honing in your story ideas, pitches and overall script.
Bonus:

Work on step-by-step assignments each week, developing your story from start to finis

Complete the first draft of your TV pilot, episode, or animated short film for critical feedback
