“Talk one on one, natural quality, authentic, unpolished, conversational. No announcers please!” We’ve all seen these specs on commercials. Seems easy enough, right? We talk to people all day long . . . but there is conversational, and then there is commercial conversational. They are two different animals. In this class we will focus on techniques you can use to sound conversational and deliver bookable reads. We will also focus on how to self direct without losing the ability to tell the story. All levels welcome
About Your Instructor:
Barbara Niles has been an agency booth director for over 15 years. Starting with the Daniel Hoff Agency and now calling McCarrell and Associates home for over 8 years. Her job is to make sure that the agency’s talent shines above the rest, and has played an integral role in countless national and regional TV and Radio campaigns. Her ability to work well with voice actors comes from her background as a theatre actor and coach. She spent a large portion of her career in NYC starring on Broadway and traveling across the country on tours and in regional theatre. Now in Los Angeles she still acts, but has found a new love in directing, coaching and producing demos for voiceover talent.
